Phil Shappard

Phil Shappard, a graduate of Toccoa Falls College and Elmhurst University, spent most of his full-time work years at the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago retiring in January 2020. During his many years at Moody Radio he processed a large tape library of recorded messages of A.W. Tozer. From this effort, over 400 sermons were digitized and made available to the public. Within many of these messages came the realization of the true power of this renown pastor and author--his prolific prayer life. After producing the manuscript of "Approaching the Almighty-100 Prayers of A.W. Tozer, Phil started transcribing the full messages of Tozer and publishing them on his weekly blog, tozertalks.com. Though first given at Tozer's little church on the Southside of Chicago in the 1950s, his messages and prayers now have a worldwide audience through print and social media.
