David Woodhouse

David Woodhouse is the co-author of Football Lexicon (2004, revised pbk 2006), described as 'absolutely brilliant' by Adrian Chiles, 'a work of genius' by Martin Kelner and 'the Bible of football vernacular' by Adam Hurrey. He collaborated with his friend John Leigh again on Racing Lexicon (2005), Cricket Lexicon (2006) and the Mark My Words column in the Independent on Sunday (2006-2008).

David's Who Only Cricket Know (2021) is the first book to sweep the four major Cricket Book of the Year Awards: from the Cricket Society/MCC, the Cricket Writers Club, the Sunday Times Sports Books Awards and Wisden. This study of MCC's tour of the West Indies in 1953/54 has been described as 'superb' (Mike Atherton), 'compelling' (David Kynaston), 'fascinating' (Scyld Berry) and 'a tour de force' (Vic Marks).
