Mariel Turrent Eggleton

Mariel Turrent Eggleton (Mexico 1967). Writer and co-founder of Malix Editores, a group that promotes the publication of works of authorship. She currently teaches creative writing workshops. She has a Master in Creative Writing from the University of Salamanca in Spain, she has a Master in Corporate Communication from the Anáhuac University in Cancun, where she was also a teacher for ten years. She has studies in "Contemporary Hispanic American Literature" and "Cervantes y El Quijote" in Geneva, Switzerland.

Writer, State Prize for Short Story "Rafael del Pozo y Alcalá" 2021 for her story "Life's good", Rey Ocho Venado Prize, awarded at the X International Meeting of Women Poets in Mexico for her poem "Mentiras" (2002), Prize only one of the short story contest Juan Domingo Argüelles Q. Roo (1999) and honorable mention in the short story contest "Like the sea that returns" Q. Roo (2000), honorable mention in the story of the dead contest Día De Muertos in Mexico from the House of Culture of Cancun (2002). She has collaborated in various newspapers in the state, as well as in cultural magazines including "Tropo a la uña", where she has published for more than ten years. She has seven books of poetry and short stories and is the author of the novel "Hasta el último vuelo" (November 2018) and "Oveja Negra" (July 2021).
