Ayleen Whyte was born and raised in Ireland, in a family of six children where they fought over whose turn it was to read the newest book in the house. At age 18 she moved to the US and settled in New York. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Lehman College in the Bronx and then an MA and PhD in psychology from the New School in Manhattan. She now lives in California and works at Stanford University. She enjoys walking in the sunshine of Northern California and does not miss the snow or rain, though she does miss the energy of Manhattan and the soul of Ireland. Most of her writing is done early in the morning, in the shade of a redwood tree. Falling With Grace, and Watchers of the Waves are both psychological thrillers set in Ireland and also in New York.
