Erica Root

Erica Root is a Philadelphia-based illustrator, artist, and mom of two.

Growing up, I was lucky enough to have a family that fostered and embraced my love of all things creative. I was raised feeling that art and breathing are connected and that one can’t survive without the other which really helped to fuel my artistic fire. Some of my favorite projects have been writing and illustrating children’s books but I also really enjoy the faster pace that comes with editorial work and the stationery market. Learning to use and incorporate new mediums, colors, subject matter, and style elements makes me buzz with excitement. Challenges to push myself artistically make me wide-eyed and eager; from researching content for a new project to learning how to use a new art tool - I thrive off of each step of the creative process.
