David A. Ham

Prof. David Ham is a Professor of Computational Mathematics at Imperial College London. His research focuses on high level abstractions and code generation for forward and inverse finite element simulation. He teaches the object-oriented programming course for undergraduate mathematicians, as well as an advanced course on the finite element method. Prof. Ham leads the development of the Firedrake automated simulation system. He was awarded the 2015 J.H. Wilkinson Prize for Numerical Software for his development of automated inverse simulation software, and he serves as chief-executive editor of the journal Geoscientific Model Development.
