Lucy Meadway

Lucy Meadway (now known as Lucy Hawke) was born in Greenwich, London in 1991. After graduating from University with a Fine Art BA Hons degree, she became a qualified art teacher in which she taught at a secondary school for over 7 years.

In this time, she founded expert pet sitting and guinea pig spa service Little Critter Care and decided to leave teaching for her dream of working with animals. She fundraises for animal rescues through her artwork, and most recently a sponsored walk, speaking live on BBC Radio Kent.

'The Happy, Healthy Guinea Pig Guidebook' is part of a series of books designed to improve the welfare of rodents and rabbits, who are among the most neglected pets in the UK.

She lives in Deal, Kent, with her dog Daisy and 2 guinea pigs Luna and Nugget. She loves nothing better than to sit in the garden in the summer doing arts and crafts and listening to a podcast while the guinea pigs enjoy being out on the grass.
