Jocelyn Li Langrand

Jocelyn Li Langrand is a London-based Chinese artist. Growing up in China, she was an outgoing child who drew the monthly school newspapers, performed at every school show, and confided in picture books. She studied abroad in Singapore and graduated from college in the United States with a BFA in Visual Communication Design. After working for a few years as a designer Jocelyn discovered her dream career in writing and drawing. Her author/illustrator debut picture book IF YOU MISS ME won the 2022 Children's Literature Centre Award for the embodiment of compassion, love, and courage. It's longlisted for the 2022 Klaus Flugge Prize for the most promising and exciting newcomer to children's picture book illustration. YEAR OF THE CAT written by Richard Ho is Jocelyn's first picture book collaboration as an illustrator.

Jocelyn also enjoys creating art for non-profit organizations and public spaces. She is the winner of the San Francisco Muni Art Award 2020, where her artworks interpreting “Hidden Gems of San Francisco” were displayed in 100 city buses, transforming these spaces into rolling galleries for thousands to enjoy.
