Toby Malone is an Australian-Canadian academic, dramaturg, and playwright who holds a PhD in Shakespearean textual analysis from the University of Toronto. He has worked as a dramaturg, director, and actor at theatres in Australia, Scotland, the United States, and Canada. Toby has published numerous academic articles in journals including Shakespeare Survey, Literature-Film Quarterly, Canadian Theatre Review, and Borrowers and Lenders, and has written chapters for collections published by Oxford, Cambridge, and Routledge. He is the co-author (with Christopher Jackman) of "Adapting War Horse" (2016) and (with Aili Huber) "Cutting Plays for Performance" (2021). His plays, including "Clasp" and "Not Really (Little Star)" have been performed widely, and he has taught at institutions including the University of Waterloo and SUNY Oswego.
