As a lifelong animal lover born and raised in New Jersey, Bruno earned a Bachelor of Science in Small Animal Science and a Certification in Equine Massage Therapy. She hopes to conduct research in the future to benefit both animals and humans. Her two children's books are called, "The Meow Brothers...Find A Home" and "The Meow Brothers...Meet Cassie."
Her sole inspiration for her first children’s story came from her two very special rescue cats. Upon finding the pair abandoned in her neighborhood within months of each other in 2011, she could not wait to bring them inside her home away from all of the outside weather elements. The cats went from being skittish to extremely friendly with the help of daily visits to her porch. Once inside, her family lovingly began calling the pair “The Meow Brothers”. People loved hearing about their story, and Bruno equally loved sharing it.
This children's book is crafted entirely from Bruno's heart. She recalls how there were not many books that she read as a child that featured a stray cat or dog, so she is grateful to be part of the change. Her message to children is that helping animals is simple and selfless. It only takes one paw at a time— or cat at a time—to make a giant difference in this world.
She is excited about her second children's book release as it features another beloved character—a canine named Cassie who is inspired by her childhood dog. Some important themes in this story are inclusivity, welcoming others, adapting to change, and celebrating differences.
