Richard Shaw

Richard Shaw has been one of the guitarists of UK metal band Cradle of Filth since 2014. With them, he has toured the world multiple times, and has co-written and recorded the albums 'Hammer of the Witches' (2015), 'Cryptoriana - The Seductiveness of Decay' (2017), and 'Existence is Futile' (2021). Schooled at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, Richard has been a session musician and educator since 2007, having taught at primary and secondary school, college and university levels; and has played guitar for over 50 musical theatre productions, as well as various tribute bands and cover bands. He continues to teach privately and give in person masterclasses between touring and recording commitments. 'Fretboard and Songwriting Theory for Metal Heads (and other genres too)' is his first book.
