When I begin to host Authors & Illustrators at my schools, I saw the profound impact they had to motivate kids to read and write. I knew that was what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. Keepers is the story closest to my heart. It inspires kids to appreciate their freedoms today while acknowledging character traits such as ingenuity, persistence, courage and self-sacrificing for the greater good no matter your race or the cultural obstacles you must overcome.This story took many years of rejections, tears and rewrites. When I "accidentally" found Teresa R. Kemp, online two years ago, a direct descendent of the Farrow family I knew I had been blessed and that this story was going to become a book someday, our book.
