Daniel Guevara

Daniel Guevara Silveira is a Cuban intensivist doctor and author, born in Santiago de Cuba. He has been writing since he was a child, influenced by the stories heard in the rural environment, the stories transmitted by generations and an early fascination with what escapes the usual explanations.

His experience in intensive medicine and emergencies and daily contact with the limits of life have coexisted with a literary vocation marked by memory, time, death, dreams and mystery. The distance from Cuba and the pain of seeing it suffer are also part of his personal and creative sensitivity.

He is the author of Notes from Beyond, a collection of stories and poetic pieces that explore the border between the real and the inexplicable, and of Instrumental Techniques in Emergencies: pocket manual, a work oriented to the medical field.

His writing thus moves between two apparently different territories: the precision of medicine and the questions that begin precisely where certainty ends.
