James W. Holmes --- Jim to some, and Jimmy to many --- grew up in Sweet Home Alabama, graduated from B. B. Comer Memorial High School in Sylacauga, Alabama, worked for Avondale Mills of Alabama in the Cloth Room and as a lifeguard for three summers at Camp Helen, in the Florida Panhandle, went into the United States Air Force, emerging three years, nine months, twenty-eight days and thirteen hours later as a Staff Sergeant, married the most beautiful girl in Texas on the way home, graduated a couple of times from Jacksonville State Teachers College --- now Jacksonville State University --- taught high school English at Lincoln High School and Ragland High School and Junior College English at Gadsden State College, then packed up and escaped from George Wallace's Alabama, bringing his family back to Texas, where he still resides after 87 years of loving life. In Texas, he went to half a dozen more colleges and universities and even graduated from another one in order to become Principal of Encinal Elementary School, part of the Cotulla, TX, ISD. After 20 years of loving and teaching and caring for "his angels" at Encinal, James retired in 1994 and has spent most of his time since writing and "messing with" computers. Having lost his Wonderful Winnie a few years ago, he is supremely fortunate to have his "Baby Dotter," Kymberley Holmes ("Kimbu:) still at home and dedicated to him. "Yes, Daddy," she once told him..."...I do like boys...but I never met one I liked well enough to marry." Thankee, Lord!
