Brian J Striefel

Brian Striefel carried his technical writing experience into fiction over 20 years ago — soon discovering that chemistry and voice have little in common. Stephen King said “the only way to develop writer’s voice is to read a lot, and write a lot,” which Brian did, finally publishing his first novel Nineteen Forty-Five in 2019. It won an IPPY award. Three more novels followed, with zero marketing — lighthearted thrillers anchored in unique / overlooked corners of U.S. culture — a Louisiana traiteur, a devious KKK leader, Native American heroes. Most stories arrive in two timeframes, muddling the border between genre and literary fiction. A Single Match debuts in the fall of 2024, and finally, a little marketing to support these books. A Single Match reimagines Stephen King's "The Shining" with a lost mountain mansion, it's past still amiss. . .
