After more than 40 years practicing cognitive psychology I retired in 2017. My first retirement project was compiling the thousands of "functional thoughts" I created for clients into Focused Positivity, a "how to" manual designed to help those whose motivation and peace of mind have been excessively disrupted by counterproductive ideas. My wife Sandy, a retired attorney and Nurse Practitioner, and I now split our time between homes in Long Beach (CA) and Austin (TX), where our sons and grandkids live. In addition to writing and reading, I'm an active cyclist, kayaker, and duplicate bridge player.
