Simon Stokes

It all started with a teaching career in Primary Education, including fifteen years based in a unit for what was then known as 'Moderate Learning Difficulties' based in a mainstream primary school in the UK. Here I developed a love of supporting learners who needed to find unique and individual ways to learn. Starting my own company in 2007, Talking Rhythms gave me the chance to combine this experience with a passion for music.

In the years since, I have delivered drum and music workshops to many areas of the community, from groups of two or three to events of a hundred or more. However my passion for engaging learners is stronger than ever and has become a core of my drumming work.

Lockdown provided me with the time and opportunity to write down and develop some of my ideas and protocols and I am very pleased to have been able to publish them in my book "Lion, Octopus, Panda, Duck." I hope you enjoy it and find it useful.
