Sarah E. Lewis

Sarah E. Lewis is the author of The Change Agents: Whispers in the Wind. She developed a love for animals and the environment while growing up near Albany, New York, where her imagination was fueled by spending time in nature. Educated at Middlebury College (B.A., Environmental Studies), the Syracuse University College of Law (J.D.), and the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (M.S., environmental science) she entered private law practice. Following the death of her beloved canine, Bebop, she decided to honor his memory by writing a story about him and, at the same time, inspire people to save the earth from the climate crisis. After practicing law for over twenty-five years, she followed her passion and became an author. Her active imagination kicked in, and The Change Agents were created.

Sarah enjoys being outdoors and can be found at some point during every day exploring natural areas on foot or skis with her energetic dogs, Bop and Jazz. They never cease to bring a smile to her face, even if the fun is peppered with moments of exasperation because one or both has eaten or rolled in something nasty. Striving to be a good environmental citizen, Sarah acknowledges she's a work in progress but will keep improving and invites others to join her in that journey.

During the course of writing the book and as an outgrowth from it, Sarah formed a Change Agents group on Facebook (facebook.com/groups/ChangeAgentsGroup) and launched a Change Agents website (climatechangeagents.com). The goal of each is to spread positive messages about what we like in the world and don't want impacted by climate change and give tips on what we can do to slow the consequences. Sarah encourages everyone to be a Change Agent by doing what's comfortable for each of us to fight climate change. She believes that each and all of us can make a difference in the climate crisis. We just need to start and keep going. Together we can do this!
