Steve and Carol Huffman

About the Authors…

Steve Huffman trained horses in the Treasure Valley of Idaho for over 30 years. Horses have been a part of his life since he was a small boy accepting his grandfather’s challenge to keep a dollar bill between his seat and the saddle. Steve has shown horses, given clinics, ridden in horse exposition shows, and developed his craft each and every day. His unique style of training is based on solid horsemanship skills between rider and horse. “There is a lot of difference between sitting on a horse and riding one,” is a common statement he tells his clients. He brings his expertise and over 50 years of riding to this book about his life between the reins.

Carol Huffman has loved horses since her grandfather took her on an excursion through the mountains of Montana in hopes of finding that one wild horse she had requested-- “A white one with pink ears.” Although it eluded them that day, horses have become a part of her life since she first met her husband, Steve, at a Colorado dude ranch. A proud mother of two children and five wonderful grandchildren, she is a retired teacher, proprietor of many businesses, and most of all a dedicated and accomplished writer. Bringing her husband’s stories to life has been pure joy as they walked down memory lane describing the ins and outs and growing pains of a horseman. This book has been written by someone who had a front row seat to a man following a passion. Through the gift of her pen, she shares their lifetime spent with horses.
