Hugh DP McArthur

Hugh Davidson Pollock McArthur FSA Scot was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1961 and was educated at Jordanhill School from 1966 to 1979. He has been at home in Scotland all his life, but considers himself slightly French after spending three years promoting good relations and “The Auld Alliance” through friendship and camaraderie whilst working in Paris. Beginning on the drawing board before moving over to 2D and 3D CAD, he has amassed over forty years-experience in the Civil & Structural Engineering industry.

Hugh is a proud Scot and Briton. He first became hooked into the ancient history of Clan Arthur and “King” Arthur in the early 1990s and has maintained an enthusiasm for researching the origin of all family names and place names he encounters. “Everything means something,” he states.

As Clan Arthur Seannachie, McArthur has penned two Clan web sites (including interactive maps), five Arthurian booklets and several photographic stories and poems for iScot Magazine. Hugh became High Commissioner for the MacArthur Society in Britain (& Europe) on the passing of his father, Frank McArthur, in 2020, and he also maintains the office of Chairman of the recently founded, “Clan Arthur Ancestral Lands Trust”.

Hugh’s first release on Amazon is “Close Encounters of the Natural Kind” which has received five-star reviews. The following booklet titles are also available from the author who can be contacted through www.clanarthur.org.
