Lord Mervyn Davies

Lord Mervyn Davies of Abersoch has enjoyed an extraordinarily successful career that has taken him from international banker to being appointed a UK Government Minister, to businessman, investor, and financier. He is a hugely admired and respected individual and widely appreciated for his prolific endeavours to help others, as a philanthropist, a contributor to the Arts and Sport, and as a mentor and guide to many well-known individuals.

When Peter Mukherjee first brought his idea for the book, A Few Wise Words, to Mervyn, he immediately saw the potential it held to make a significant impact on anyone that genuinely strives to find real purpose and success in life. He also empathised with the book’s ambition to provide a practical guide for parents, on the vital role that they can play, to help their children to get started. The book soon became a key collaboration, and the contribution that he has made to the project has been invaluable throughout.

Lord Davies has long been an advocate for gender equality and has actively campaigned for women to be more fairly represented at leadership level and in the boardroom. It was therefore a fittingly relevant ambition of his that the book should include an equal representation of both men and women as contributors to it.

He is currently working with Peter Mukherjee to prepare Volume Two of A Few Wise Words.
