Sara Lawrence Peacock Cook
Sara Lawrence (Peacock) Cook is a published interior designer and retired from her thirty-year career as owner of an interior design business and importer of European antiques. Living in Europe for fifteen years she traveled extensively for clients, business and pleasure, including a visit to Istanbul, Turkey – the setting for Shaitan. A self-described “collector of experiences and impressions,” she turned her creative efforts to writing, using her vivid recollections to build scenes and characters for Shaitan, an intriguing, inspired plot and mesmerizing outline developed by her brother and co-author, Robert. Essential to her path for recovery from Stage 3B lung cancer, she relocated from the hectic pace of the East coast to the Great Northern Plains to be close to her sons and their wives – Zachary (Katelyn) and Joshua (Rebecca) - in search of the restorative quiet and exquisite peace of the “wide open skies” lifestyle. She is grateful for the intellectual and creative talents her cherished daughters-in-law, Katelyn and Rebecca, have brought to the books. She has been married forty-eight years to John L. Cook, a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel and published author.
Robert and Sara continue to join forces, deciding to expand the 16th century adventures of Count Vincenzo Lupo to create the series “The Wicked and the Wolf”, releasing Book II – Draculesti - simultaneously with Shaitan. Work begins on Book III. Seeking to enhance the reader’s enjoyment, they have included, in both books, illustrations evocative of the tales and artistry of the 16th century.
