Michelle Hanton

Michelle passionately believes that “change begins with one person taking the first step’’ and life is full of hope.

She is the founder of Dragons Abreast Australia, Inaugural Executive President of the International Breast Cancer Paddlers Commission (IBCPC). Michelle is a founding member of NT Breast Cancer Voice, a former State Representative for Breast Cancer Network Australia, and has served on the National Breast Cancer Foundation Consumer Advisory Panel.

Awarded the Order of Australia in 2008 for her contribution to women’s health, Michelle was in 2010 the first female to be awarded Life Membership of the Australian Dragon Boat Federation.

A testament to her business skills is the multiple business awards she has received during her 20+ year career with the corporate and NFP sector. These include the prestigious Telstra (NT) Businesswoman of the Year and the Order of Australia in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2008.
