Ruth Jones

I am a retired teacher, my students aged from 7 to 19 over a 40 yr period. I live with my husband and dog. We love the Yorkshire Dales which is near our village. The Dales is a magical area of outstanding natural beauty, ideal as the setting for my stories. Ruby Goes Over the Wall is my first book. I was drawn to write the story for my granddaughter Ruby, parts of her character inspired the tale. Ideas tumbled out allowing me to add 4 more stories to create Fluttabee Tales. Being an educator, parent and grandparent, I often use situations to encourage children through creativity and expression to help them learn how to make educated decisions in their own lives. The natural world is a magical way to develop children's imagination and curiosity. I created the Fluttabees as fun creatures whose characters hopefully will inspire children. My illustrator Pat and I got together after I saw her work in my local Women's Institute magazine. We published following in the true Fluttabee style with teamwork, care and dedication.
