Jen Landis

About the Author

After experiencing self-doubt while getting her Master's in Fine Art, Jen used art and positive thinking to regain her self-confidence. Her thesis studies morphed into her company, Pincurl Girls. She is fueled by her passion to help youth move out of the spiral of negative thinking and show them ways they can start to feel better.

Her book, Skip the Bad Songs, was birthed from her own self-doubt. "Pre-teens and teenagers need to hear “they are enough” daily after hours of scrolling on social media and comparing themselves to others", Jen says. Due to today's unhealthy social algorithms, girls must be taught the steps they can take to believe in themselves! This book provides the positive reinforcement and action steps that have helped me gain more self-love and confidence.

Professional Experience

Jen founded the company, Pincurl Girls. where she illustrates, writes, and designs wall calendars and products with positive sayings encouraging girls and women to believe in themselves.

Jen has completed over 2 seasons of her podcast, called GIRLBRAVE, where she interviews young women between the ages of 10-19 years of age who share their stories about obstacles they have overcome and advice they would give to another girl going through something similar. She has interviewed a young girl with cochlear implants, a girl whose mother passed away from cancer when she was six, a girl who spoke at a Black Lives Matter protest, and many more courageous girls. The stories are incredible and the podcast is another vehicle I can use to market this book. The podcast currently has 4,289 downloads and growing.
