Eileen Ivers

Grammy-awarded recording artist, performer, composer, producer, educator and 9-time All-Ireland Fiddle Champion, Eileen Ivers is known for her unique musical style and her signature blue violin, “Bluey.”

Eileen lives in New York with her husband and son. When her son was bullied on the elementary school bus, Eileen was proud to see him learn to return the next day, stand up for himself, ultimately befriending the child. Eileen connects her musical and family experiences in authoring her first children’s book Will Someone Play Bluey? … a heartwarming story to teach kindness and respect for each other.

After graduating magna cum laude in mathematics, Eileen Ivers was awarded a Doctor of Arts, honoris causa, from her graduate and post graduate alma mater, Iona College, for her “lifelong commitment to innovation, excellence and deep dedication to bringing people together through music.”

Eileen regularly tours, performs in concert halls, headlines music festivals, and has guest starred with over 50 symphony orchestras to date. She's been called a "sensation" by Billboard magazine and "the Jimi Hendrix of the violin," by The New York Times. "She electrifies the crowd with a dazzling show of virtuoso playing" says The Irish Times.

Touring provides the opportunity to directly connect school children with the arts through master classes and outreach programs. “Eileen Ivers knows how to connect with children in a way that makes music fun …a wonderful musician, a wonderful teacher.”, Jason Hodges, Executive Director, Anchorage Concert Association.

Scatter the Light is Eileen’s new album release of predominantly original music.

It follows the previous release, Beyond the Bog Road, which focuses on the influences of the Celtic tradition on Roots music (Bluegrass, French-Canadian, Cajun, Appalachian, Americana).
