Having spent almost his entire working career in the IT industry, Eric came quite late, and somewhat accidentally, into the world of writing. After producing a 5,000 word short story for a fundraising competition at work, he was pleasantly surprised to find that "Countdown to Zero" had been selected for inclusion in a charity book in support of the charity "Mental Health UK". Happily, the book sold out, which resulted in a sizeable financial donation to this very worthwhile cause.

However, this whetted Eric's appetite for writing, and when he found himself with some unexpected free time due to the Covid pandemic in late 2020, he started investigating and writing the novel, "Missing in Action". The novel is based on extraordinary true events, and is set on the Eastern Front during the Second World War and tells the story of Valia, just an ordinary soldier in the Soviet Red Army.

Later in 2021, Eric decided to start work on the "Visioner Series" of short stories. The first of these was a major reworking of “Countdown to Zero”. Additional short stories will be added to this series, as they get completed.
