I love telling stories and I love the English language. I started writing quite young - I had a bad stammer and preferred to write as I found speaking challenging. I found I had a 'way with words' and a good 'turn of phrase', and writing turned into a career as, firstly, an advertising copywriter and creative director, then as a video and film director and producer. Perhaps surprisingly, having written all my working life, The Daisy Chain was my first attempt at a novel, started as a project for my Master's degree in Creative Writing (which rather foundered due to Covid) that I finished during lockdown. I hope you find this part of Georgian history and the founding of Kew Gardens as fascinating and rewarding as I did (and still do).
