Marina Petrillo

Marina Petrillo is an author, reporter and social journalist. She was senior editor at "Open Migration" and anchor/producer in the "reported.ly" team, an award-winning social journalism project directed by Andy Carvin. She was a radio producer and anchor for 25 years and was co-editor in chief of Radio Popolare, one of the largest community radio stations in Europe. For her work on the Arab Spring, she was one of "The Independent"’s “most influential non-celebrity users of Twitter” in 2011. She is an expert on digital and collaborative journalism and she teaches creative nonfiction at Scuola Holden. She was communications officer on Welfare for the City of Milan and now works at European parliament. In 2021she is releasing her third book, a memoir on the occupation of Tahrir square.
