John Nugée

I am an independent commentator and public speaker on financial, economic and political issues, with an extensive background in the official sector and over 30 years practical experience of training and capacity building in public sector finance and investment. I currently lecture in Politics and Economics at St Mary’s University, Twickenham.

Outside the world of official finance and geo-politics I am a liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Weavers, London’s oldest livery company, for whom I served as Upper Bailiff (ie Master) in 2015-16, a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG), and a trustee for and investment adviser to a number of pension funds and foundations. I am the author of a number of books, including Confessions of a Business Traveller (2011), Reflections on Global Finance (2013), The Wisdom of Markets (2020) and A Psalm a Day (2021).
