After losing her precious daughter to a congenital heart defect, Caroline and her husband, Derek, decided to share their journey with the world. They wanted to raise awareness about these devastating conditions and provide support to others going through similar experiences.

Caroline's story touched the hearts of many, and soon she found herself receiving messages from grieving parents who sought comfort and solace in her words. She discovered a small network of parents, united by their shared pain, who were determined to help each other through the darkest times of their lives. Months after Millie's passing, people were still watching their YouTube channel, finding comfort in the videos that documented Millie's life.

In the midst of her grief, Caroline turned to writing as a form of release. She never intended to share her personal thoughts, but as she heard from more grieving individuals, she realized the power of her words. She felt that something positive could emerge from her pain. Teamed with fellow Heart Mom, Stefanie Patterson, they embarked on the journey of creating a children's book that not only told Millie's story but also explored the concept of life and death. Caroline holds a Masters in Planning Studies and has always been passionate about creating sustainable and thriving communities. She originally pursued a successful career as the Director of Planning and Development in a small town. But when she became a mother and faced the challenges of raising a child with a congenital heart defect, her priorities shifted.

Now, Caroline dedicates her time and knowledge to supporting families navigating the world of congenital heart defects and coping with child loss. She no longer seeks recognition on a public stage; instead, she focuses on building a community of love and support for those who need it most.
