Dane Pestano

Independent Sussex scholar and historian Dane Pestano has been studying ancient and early medieval history for over thirty years. He is the first scholar to have discovered an acrostic in the the work of Gildas and its sources in the works of Jerome and Rufinus.

In 2011 he published his first book on the subject of the early sixth century historical Irish king, Mac Erca, and demonstrated that Mac Erca's acquisition of legends and mythology parallelled that of the early King Arthur. He then created a blog called Dark Age History and continues to publish draft articles there, and here on Academia.

His most recent work is 'Ambrosius Aurelianus and the Apocalypse of King Arthur.' Forthcoming works will include vindications of material in this book and a further acrostic dicovered in the work of Gildas.
