I've loved reading since I was a little girl, just learning to read. I’d sit on the floor in front of our encyclopedias; my mother taught me how to find the children’s stories in the index book, and see which number encyclopedia it was in, what page it was on, and I’d sit there, reading, for hours!

I’ve loved writing as long as I can remember, and have wanted to write a book about the Lord since the mid 1980’s, when we were living in Hubbard, TX. But, I allowed someone to make me believe that you must be a person of celebrity status, to write a book, and I was a nobody.

One day someone at work, said simply, “Patricia, if you were to categorize everything you do at home for your family, into a career category; cooking, laundry, shopping, helping with homework, cleaning, bill paying, nursing your family back to healthy, etc., look how many careers you have several years’ experience in; then add your hotel management.” My youngest was in her first year of college, and I’d been working for many years!

I realized then, most women, (and a lot of men) don’t give themselves enough credit! And, the Lord was the one giving me this strong desire to write!

Still, over the next several years, I put my desire to write on the back burner; We had three of our grandchildren living with us while my youngest was doing her senior year in high school.

We had horses, and went riding every day with the grandkids, after we got home from work, for at least an hour before dinner; and of course on weekends.

We later moved to Blessing, Texas, right on the Gulf of Mexico. I’ve always loved the ocean! German Shepherds, horses, and the ocean, I think in that order, and my daughter, Sammi Lynn, has gifted me with a beautiful German Shepherd, on two occasions!

I immediately decided to go to college, because it was another desire I’d always had, and not long after I graduated, I started seriously rethinking that book. And one day the Lord said, “Patricia, its time.” And I knew exactly what He was talking about! God is so exciting to write about! And, He's a LOT of fun to work for!
