A K Winter

A K Winter was born and grew up in Surrey, England. She enjoyed a long career in the Ambulance Service before focusing her energies on writing. She is the author of the Phoebe and Friends series of children's books, starting with Phoebe Breaks Free (inspired by the true story of Phoebe's escape from an unhappy home). She and Phoebe live on the Surrey/Berkshire border and have most (but not all) of their adventures in the south of England.
