I live and work in Turkey, where I have taught the English language since 2010 and have served as an instructor at the university level since 2013. I'm a native of the U.S. from the state of Kansas, I spent my early years studying art and photography, culminating in a degree in Commercial and Advertising Arts from Salina Area Technical College. I have worked as a freelance artist on commissions since 1998 and am fluent in all mediums, principally graphite, pastel, and colored pencil. My illustrations comprise a versatile range of subjects, including landscapes, animals, automobiles, still life, and the human figure. For the past thirty years, I have pursued an interest in developing my technique toward the perfection of the human figure in realistic illustration portraits. I’m a very detail-oriented artist, creating hundreds of portraits over the years of exceptional quality. When not working on commission, I illustrate Hollywood movie stars or famous people for practice and educational purposes. My work has been publicly exhibited in such venues as the Salina Area Public Television Art Gallery (1998), and a special exhibition in Çorum, Turkey, sponsored by Bir Medya and the Çorum Municipality (2017). My work has also been published in four books to date (two are Shan Peck's 'Stars of the Silver Screen' and 'Arts, Sports, Politics, Science').
