Doug Dees
For many years in all size churches, from FBC in Harrison AR, to HHBC in Edmond OK, and FirstMoore in Moore OK, to FirstOrlando in FL., Doug was basically the guy who helped people become disciple makers, followers of Christ. In all these places he sensed God saying he was to ‘proclaim the Word’. He kept thinking it might be to preach, but every time he turned his mind to being a preaching pastor, God said ‘no’. Turns out, his ‘proclaiming’ was to be through writing. In beginning the fourth quarter of life, Doug realized very clearly God was saying to ‘proclaim from the housetops’…these days that is through writing and blogging.
Doug was born and raised in Ft. Worth, Texas. He attended Paschal High School then Texas Wesleyan University. He received a Masters from Southwestern Theological Seminary and a Doctorate from Reformed Theological Seminary. He's married to Karen, the love of his life, and they have two adult kiddos. Katie lives in Port Orange, FL and is an EMT/Firefighter. Matt lives in Flagstaff, AZ and manages a popup camper company.
In every church Doug realized people needed to know that Christ is ‘real’, and wants to be more relationally close to us than we could have ever imagined. Doug writes to help people know and love God more deeply every day, to grow as a follower of Christ…and to be led by the Spirit to help others do the same.
On a personal note, he sank his dad’s 1979 Jeep CJ-5 in Benbrook Lake years ago. It now sits in his garage. God’s stories of grace in life are sometimes odd. :)
