My name is Barrington Roy (Barry) Schiller, and I am now mainly retired, but before that, I was a Cultural and Trade track 1.5 diplomat acting covertly for the Supreme Headquarters of Allied Powers in Europe (SHAPE) of NATO, a job for which my life literally depended on understanding dangerous creatures like Narcissists. I also personally experienced how foreign aid and donations to support children in war zones just made others rich. In the early 1980s, We were developing a Franchise promoting the UK by opening British Centres in Germany, and I went in search of hiring a Franchise consultant, a scarce concept in those days, to promote our franchise, as well as Track 1.5 diplomacy and being a cold war soviet military specialist I have also been a Franchise consultant, and in 1985, I started publishing a quarterly magazine/directory publication he owned (Franchise Opportunities ), so as of issue 11, I became the owner/editor in chief of one of the UK’s first Franchise Directories and Magazines working with Franchisors and specialist Franchising departments of Banks. Since then, I have been involved in Franchising, trade, business and Real estate in Serbia, Russia, Germany, a host of other countries, and the UK.

Franchising hasn’t always attracted the most savoury characters, and a particular renowned entrepreneur, consultant and publisher had already been convicted of Fraud, thus emphasising that it is a field where extreme caution should be exercised no matter how respectable a franchise may seem at first glance. Much of what I wrote as advice and questions to ask in the 80s is still being used today. I also, therefore train and certify ethical Franchise consultants.
