Sean Benson

A Shakespeare scholar, my research focuses primarily on the religious dynamics of early modern and later literature. My teaching interests run from the late medieval period through the nineteenth-century novel, and include the works of Edmund Spenser and John Milton. I like to read widely in history, philosophy, and religion; for fun I am especially keen on the novels of Anthony Trollope, Jane Austen, and the Jeeves and Wooster series by the inimitable P. G. Wodehouse. I am professor of English and hold the Frank W. Mayborn Chair of Arts and Sciences at The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
