Prior to coaching at Rochester University, Pleasant was Head Coach for the Men's Basketball at Abilene Christian University, and Assistant Coach for Men's Basketball at Kent State University, The University of Tennessee-Martin, and Wayne State University. While at Kent State he helped lead the team to an Elite Eight appearance in the 2001 NCAA I National Basketball Tournament. Pleasant earned his doctoral degree in educational leadership and change management from Lipscomb University 2019. He is an avid Keynote speaker on topics of leadership, team building, creating healthy culture, overcoming adversity, and managing change. He also is a sought-after presenter at retreats and business consulting events. He and his wife have negotiated unimaginable trauma and it has shaped his faith and ability to help lead others; and in that pain he discovered his gift of writing. His wife's name is Rachel, and they have two precious daughters, Abbey and Julia. And a dog named Captain (named after a Pearl Jam song, who Pleasant has been known to follow around the country). As a leader and administrator, Pleasant still values listening, authenticity, and having meaningful conversations to always seek better understanding. He is an incredibly gifted writer, and that has become his passion. He has blessed many with that talent.

Endorsements

"Once upon a time we wrote letters, and Klint still does. And he reminds us of the power of the form and how important it is to call people into a conversation. He does this in the most powerful way. In daring in moving ways, he invites believers and non-believers to listen deeply and respond authentically. Klint provides an excellent way to prepare our hearts for the season, and for life."

Randy Harris, Author/Theologian

"Klint's voice is one I've come to trust. In this must read collection of Advent mediations, he invites us deeper into the story of scripture; and as we read, we are allowed to bring our questions, our failures, our tears, and our fears. The devotional pieces are creative, honest, and ultimately hopeful-since they point to the One who came in flesh and blood."

Mike Cope, Pepperdine University/Author

"Advent is such a special season on the Christian calendar. What if we were to enter into dialogue with others about it-from prophets and apostles to the confused and curious? Ask about their personal experience of Him? Interact with them through our own experiences? Invite both believers and non-believers to overhear the conversations? Klint Pleasant invites us to join just that. Readers will be blessed and enriched by this book!"

Rubel Shelly, Author

"I've always known that Coach Pleasant was an impactful coach and leader, but he shows us here that he's also an incredibly gifted writer and thinker. Perhaps one of the reasons he's a successful leader is because he understands the importance of nurturing the whole person. Allow these devotionals to bless your life, and nurture your soul, as they have mine."

Jon Horst, General Manager, Milwaukee Bucks, NBA

"At a time when most people need inspiration, my former basketball coach Klint Pleasant gives us an outstanding tool and a faith-filled message centered around Advent. This is a must read!"

Jonathan Merritt, Pastor Straight Gate International Church Detroit, MI
