Mary J Schalla

Hello everyone and welcome to my author page!

My name is Mary J Schalla, I live in Alberta, Canada and am a mom to three young children. I was born in Alberta, but have lived coast to coast across Canada while growing up. A little interesting fact, I have moved over 40 times in my life, and I have an extremely large family that is spread out all across Canada.

When growing up I always wanted to work with the police, being a sketch artist, so in college, I enrolled in art school. Unfortunately, I did not complete this as I quickly came to realize it was not a great fit for what I wanted to do in life. I ended up working in a warehouse for many years before having children, a job I loved and was proud of. Since having my children I have pretty much been a stay-at-home mom, with few jobs in between the years my children have grown. I still have a goal to someday work with the police.

I love many sports such as baseball, soccer, basketball, football and track and field. I enjoy many different genres of movies and books such as Shawshank Redemption, To Kill a Mockingbird (both the movie and the book), and The Last Castle. I also love history and enjoy learning all I can about the Titanic and Tsar Nicholas ll. I also love watching Criminal Minds, Grey’s Anatomy and documentaries.

I love writing and reading, I paint and draw, and I can hold my own when it comes to doing renovations. I feel I am pretty versatile and can do many things.
