BIO:

Beginning in grade school, advancing through high school concert and marching band, solo and ensemble contests, band clinics, concert band competitions and marching band festivals, Mr. Kennedy went on with his music studies to the Berklee School of Music performing as a member of the Trombone Ensemble, the Concert Band and, briefly, his own brass choir.

At Berklee, he gave two student recitals, the first and second at that institution. During that time he was a member and performed with two civic symphonies in the greater Boston area and 'pit' bands/orchestras for area stage plays.

Mr. Kennedy concentrated at Berklee in courses in the Arranging and Composition curricula.

In 1969 Mr. Kennedy graduated Berklee with a diploma in Arranging and Composition. More interested in a career as a trombonist, he joined a newly formed Swallow, billed as a blues-rock band, culminating in a recording contract with Warner Brothers Records. Mr. Kennedy concluded his instrumental career in 1973.

Joining the workforce, Mr. Kennedy has worked part-time at a drugstore soda fountain and full time for an automobile parking company, rising to management. Following that, he worked as a 'flask rigger' at a grey iron casting foundry in Connecticut. Returning to the Boston area, he found work in an electronics factory as assembler, test operator, shipper and, finally at that company's help desk.

In the years that followed and throughout his time in Connecticut, Mr. Kennedy answered an inner call to write, finishing several short stories, teleplays, a screenplay and several book length science fictions, one of those self-published. Currently, Mr. Kennedy BLOGs a science fiction-action adventure on the Internet, see Reverbnation and LinkedIN - this page - LINKS 'Adventures Of The Red Seal'.

Ending his time in electronics manufacturing, Mr. Kennedy entered part-time employment at a Boston area arts center as 'sculpture assistant' classes, the class provided employment. Mr. Kennedy sculpted several figurative works and portraits as was the curriculum, selling several as donations the local public television fund raising auctions.

One sculpture received the 1993 'sculpture award' at the Concord Arts exhibition. The class was taught by Marcia Zonis, a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College in New York, sculptress and former student of sculptor David Smith.

During this time, Mr. Kennedy was employed part-time as a video and 'print' model, with two principal roles in national advertising campaigns. Mr. Kennedy, at greater length, found employment as a food service worker or server at catered banquets and catered general event functions at Boston area colleges and venues to present.

Returning to music in 1994, Mr. Kennedy made use of the maturing technology of the computer age. Mr. Kennedy has composed a variety of works, without sale, entering contests for prize, remix, work-for-hire or calls for scores for money prizes or grants. Currently, more than one hundred recorded tracks are on his ReverbNation website with others to be added.
