Jayne M Booth

Jayne M. Booth has been writing ever since she could hold a pencil. She loves to participate in the adventures her characters invite her to join. She believes that every story should reveal a personal or global truth the reader can discover and claim as their own.

Her first book, "SMASHING IDOLS: Transform Your Body, Mind, and Spirit with a Plant-Based Lifestyle," is the result of Jayne's 20+ years following a plant-based lifestyle and as a certified Health Minister teaching others the physical and spiritual benefits of that choice.

Jayne's newest series is in a completely different genre -- historical fiction for middle-grade children. These books are set in the early 20th-century American coal mines, with the hybrid flavor of Laura Ingalls Wilder's "Little House on the Prairie" series and Lucy Maud Montgomery's "Anne of Green Gables." Driven by a passion to preserve the knowledge of a mostly forgotten era and its common heroes, The ROCKED IN THE CRADLE OF COAL stories are based on historical evidence and personal interviews with those who lived in coal country in the early 1900s. Jayne hopes to provide a glimpse back in time, into the lives of the poorest of the poor, as seen through the eyes of their children.

Book 1, "Peeling Potatoes: Katie's Story"

Book 2, "Tell me About My Father: Wasyl's Story"

Book 3, "From the Mine to the Mansion: Ann's Story"

Book 4, "The Orphan Years: While We Are Absent One From The Other"

Jayne is the mother of four children and grandmother to three little boys. When not writing, she likes to paint, dance, hike, experiment with plant-based recipes, and read to anyone who will listen. Jayne and her husband now live in Maryland with their furry little dog, Pepper.
