Lori decided to start writing the Registered for Life with Jesus Christ series while under a "Healthy at Home" order during the worldwide 2020 covid-19 pandemic by Kentucky's governor Andy Beshear, while civil unrest was happening in her city of Louisville Kentucky due to the death of Breonna Taylor. , a 26-year-old African American woman who was fatally shot March 13, 2020 during a forced entry into her apartment by the Louisville metro police department and several police misconduct complaints that went unanswered as well as her own police misconduct case that she filed against the arresting detective in her case.
