GF Stevens

Gary Stevens is an American storyteller and the author of Asteria Weeps and Magnus Five.

It is said that Gary had an imaginary friend as a child named Bobo. They were an adventurous duo, and Bobo was quite a character. But when his friend locked his mother in a closet that could only open from the outside, they went their separate ways. Bobo was only the start of his life’s adventure into storytelling.

Gary’s imagination followed him during war and peace. When the draft started, he joined the Navy before his notice arrived. During his service on the USS Shreveport, he told his stories to the lookouts to keep them awake. They were often spooky or of an alien nature. It seemed the best genre under the starry Atlantic Ocean skies.

Over the next few decades, Gary used every bit of the knowledge he was given and changed companies and jumped ship on electronics repair to UNIX systems administration. Until his honorable discharge as a weapons Fire Control 3rd Class Petty Officer.

From there, he landed his life’s dream job as a Senior Systems Analyst for NASA. Working in the Mission Control Center’s software development environment, the Crew and Thermal Systems Division, and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. While working at NASA, he developed long-time friends who were literally out of this world.

Gary spent the last part of his digital work-life at the place where the stuff of science fiction sometimes becomes a reality. The Brookhaven National Laboratory as a Senior Technology Engineer working in the Information Technology Division.

Grateful to not only work on everything from desktop computers to super-computing clusters. Gary Stevens assisted scientists in solving their computer problems and advance everything from particle physics to nanotechnology.

When he’s not writing, you can find him somewhere on a lake in Texas with his dog, Buddy.
