Retirement has given me the opportunity to take up long distance walking. Hiking Offa's Dyke a few days after leaving my long term, desk bound job was a bit of a strain with chaffed thighs and wobbly knees, however, the Pennine Way and Thames Path gave me enjoyment of the open country without so much pain. Seeking greater adventure I then walked, a section at a time, from Spain to Cyprus on the E4 trail, following up with the Israel National Trail, almost finishing when Covid struck, forcing me to take one of the few remaining flights home. Confined to the UK I hiked up a few more trails in this country, the longest being from Land's End to John o'Groats, on which I discovered I had a dodgy, arthritic knee. Hoping this does not curtail future adventures..
