Al is a priest in the Church of England, and since 2010 has been Rector of Hodge Hill Church in east Birmingham, engaged in a long-term journey of intergenerational community-building with his church community and wonderfully diverse neighbours. His writing is rooted in his day-to-day life and work, within and beyond the church, making connections across diverse fields of thinking and practice, and always in conversation with others (human and more-than-human creature-kin). He is committed to joining with others in 'composting' structures of mastery and domination, including race, class, gender, disability and ecocidal human activity.
