I.L. Singh grew up in the Caribbean and migrated to New York as a teenager, later settling in Florida with her family. Her love for storytelling began with the countless bedtime tales she told her three children over the years — stories that blend her vibrant Caribbean culture with heartfelt, modern-day lessons.

A lifelong animal lover, especially of monkeys, Indira Lily Singh brought that passion to life through Saba, the mischievous and lovable monkey now starring in a growing series of children’s books.
