Emily de Schweinitz Taylor
Dr. Emily de Schweinitz Taylor is a certified mediator, conflict coach, and developmental psychologist. She recently joined Utah's largest public university, Utah Valley University, as the assistant director of conflict resolution and ombuds. From 2019-2021, she served as the assistant director of Brigham Young University (BYU) Law’s Center for Peace and Conflict Resolution. In addition to her PhD from BYU in developmental psychology, she holds master’s degrees from the University of Chicago (international policy) and the University of Denver (conflict resolution).
In 2017, she published her first book entitled, Raising Mediators: How Smart Parents Use Mediation to Transform Sibling Conflict and Empower Their Children. In 2021, Emily published her second book: Conflict Fluent: Mastering the Five Conflict Approaches. Both books are available for purchase on Amazon.
Emily has been a regular guest on BYU Radio and presents on conflict resolution topics regularly to non-profits, university, corporate, and other organizational audiences. She enjoys participating as vice-chair of the Schweinitz Family Board in Germany and spending time with her friends and family, traveling, and hiking in the nearby mountains with her beloved dog, Mr. Darcy.
