Dr. Joshua D. Henson

Dr. Henson has a passion for biblical, Christian education and believes that Christian leaders are called to be images of Christ in the workplace, the marketplace, and in every place. As a pastor and educator, he has a heart for education: working with students to help them achieve their academic goals while also providing pastoral encouragement. Dr. Henson is an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God (Cleveland, TN) and served as a Lead Pastor for 15 years prior to coming to SEU in a full-time capacity in 2021.

Dr. Henson has served multiple academic institutions as an instructor and dissertation chair. He has taught courses on every level, but he found his niche teaching doctoral level courses. He has published multiple articles applying biblical research to organizational leadership constructs. He has published five books as contributing author and editor: Evaluating Employee Performance through Christian Virtues (2018), Exegetical Analysis: A Practical Guide for Biblical Research in the Social Sciences (2020), Modern Metaphors of Christian Leadership (2020), Biblical Organizational Leadership (2021), and Historic Christian Followership. He also serves as the Co-Editor of the Journal of Biblical Perspectives in Leadership.
