Miranda Beard

Miranda Beard is an author and award-winning broadcast journalist with 30 years of experience. She has used her voice extensively across the United States, parts of Central and Western Europe, and the Dominican Republic to advocate and promote equity and excellence in education for all children to close the achievement gap. She used nearly two decades of school board governance experience to lead a nationally recognized organization as the 2016-2017 president of the National School Boards Association (NSBA) based in the Washington, D.C area. NSBA’s members, state school board associations, provide training opportunities to 90 thousand school board members who serve over 50-Million children in America’s schools. Miranda is a motivational speaker, a consultant on equity and cultural proficiency, and leadership training in her role as president and owner of B & B Consultants Incorporated.
